DMCA Copyright Policy

WPCricket (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users, contributors, and editorial staff to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA) and applicable international copyright laws, we will respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement that are properly reported to our Designated Copyright Agent.

As a digital sports news publication, we occasionally use images, logos, and brief video clips under the doctrine of “Fair Use” for the purposes of news reporting, commentary, and editorial analysis. However, if you are a copyright owner and believe that your work has been copied or used on our website in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please follow the procedure below.

1. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content residing on or accessible through the WPCricket.com website infringes your copyright, please send a written notice of infringement (a “Takedown Notice”) to our Designated Copyright Agent containing the following information:

  • Your physical or electronic signature. (Typing your full legal name at the bottom of the email is sufficient for an electronic signature).

  • Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed. If multiple copyrighted works are covered by a single notice, please provide a representative list of such works.

  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled. You must provide the exact URL(s) of the specific page(s) where the allegedly infringing material is located.

  • Your contact information, including your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.

  • A statement of good faith that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  • A statement of accuracy, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Please note: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages.

2. Filing a DMCA Counter-Notice

If you believe that your content was removed (or access to it was disabled) by mistake or misidentification, you may send a Counter-Notice to our Designated Agent. To be valid, your Counter-Notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.

  • Identification of the material that has been removed and the exact URL where the material appeared before it was removed.

  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.

  • Your name, address, and telephone number, along with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your jurisdiction, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original original Takedown Notice.

Upon receipt of a valid Counter-Notice, WPCricket may restore the removed content within 10 to 14 business days, unless the original complaining party notifies us that they have filed a legal action against the content provider.

3. Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, WPCricket has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, the access of users, commenters, or contributing guest writers who are deemed to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
